error 303 with packaging my AIR icon
Hi guys & gals
this is a very simple task that has been giving me a curious amount of trouble and frustration for being so commonplace, and I would appreciate the help
This is a part of my application-app.xml file

When I try to export a release build in flash builder, it gives me error 303 Error creating AIR File, Icon is missing from package
In the 3rd step of exporting, under AIR File Contents (Select the output files to include in the exported AIR file) I do not have any option to select the icon file.. is it supposed to appear here, and if so how? Because it is not even displaying my data folder in this screen, much less let me select a file
I also couldn't find anything under the build path for the project properties to include assets either. Just source files and swcs.
What am I doing wrong here, this is supposed to be a very simple task and so far I have dumped hours into this without avail

Setting background image on Flash Builder 4.5 application
Hi,
I would like to set a background image on my Flash Builder 4.5 application. Does anyone know how to do this? Haven't seen an example that does this. Flex 3 made this very easy to do, but not 4.5

No Design Mode in Flash Builder 4.7
It took me many hours to figure this out so I thought I would share what I discovered to make it easier on others.
1. Flash Builder 4.7 no longer has Design Mode (being able to design forms graphically). 4.6 was the last version to support it.
2. Adobe will not sell you 4.6 (or 4.5). They only sell 4.7. They suggest you find a retailer who has an old box.
3. Don't bother complaining, the word is "real programmers don't use design mode".
4. I called support yesterday to get some questions answered. I was told the wait time is over 2 hours and I can't leave a callback number. (At least at that time, they only let you leave a callback number for product returns - which I also did.)
I spent over 8 hours on this yesterday at a cost, in terms of lost revenue, of 4 figures. I hope this saves you some time.

How to convert .p7s certificate into .p12 certificate

I have got .p7s global signed developer certificate from client.
I am not able to directly use it for building my air application.
Can anyone have an idea about how to use this certificate?
Or how to convert it into valid .p12 file format?
Its urgent please help.

Error org.eclipse.swt.custom.StyledText.getScrollbarsMode()I after re install
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
A few days agao I click on Software Updates under the help menu, which was a mistake. I started getting errors, my workspaces would not load and I could not work.
I uninstalled FlashBuilder4.6, used the creative suite cleaner tool, and re installed.
Now I get
An error has occurred. See error log for more details.
org.eclipse.swt.custom.StyledText.getScrollbarsMode()I
every time I try to open a file. I can create a project, files are recognized, but trying to open them give the above error.
I though I had cleared out all traces of eclipse before reinstalling, but maybe not.
Any advice would be greatily appreciated.

How to setup Flex SDK with latest AIR SDK?
Now the latest AIRSDK web page has a small link at the bottom for Flex users and it states that Flex users should take the SDK version without the compiler. BUT....
the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-builder/kb/overlay-air-sdk-flash-builder.html page says to download the SDK from
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/asc2.html
but this page now redirects to:
http://helpx.adobe.com/air/kb/archived-air-sdk-version.html
which contains a large list of archived SDK's. So that help page never really says which version of the SDK to use - with or without the compiler. But other forum posts have implied its suppose to be the one with the compiler.
Now since we're overlaying the ...plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK folder that would make sense.
But now there's a second overlay instructions page at:

with different instructions.
So my questions are:
Which overlay instructions are we really suppose to use?
Which version of the AIR SDK (with or with-out compiler) are we suppose to use?
What does the Flex Library Project properties -> Flex Library Compiler -> 'Include Adobe AIR libraries' checkbox really do?
If I've followed the (first) overlay instructions above, does this checkbox now mean I'm using the overlaid AIR SDK 3.6
with the current Flex SDK I've chosen?
What if I'm using the Apache Flex 4.9.1 SDK? Will the AIR SDK 3.6 overlay that?
(Doesn't Apache Flex have AIR 3.4 embedded - will this confuse Flash Builder 4.7 ?)
Is it just me, or is this just getting more and more confusing? Can we perhaps get a AIR SDK combo box to go beside the Flex combo box and when we check the 'Include Adobe AIR libraries' then we can select the AIR SDK we want? And get a 'configure AIR SDKs...' link too? Then perhaps we can get completely away from overlays and all this merged SDK nonsense. I've had nothing but problems with it.
The real reason I need all this info is because I'm trying to use Flash Builder 4.7 to build an Android ANE and I'm having a devil of a time just trying to find my resources. When I use context.getResourceID() I'm not getting the correct resources - and after reviewing other posts here I came to the conclusion that it might be due to bugs in older AIR SDK's. So really, at the moment I could care less about the latest Flex SDK, I just need to know I'm working from the latest AIR SDK.

'AIR App' failed to install via iTune sync with Flash Builder 4.6
Hi all,
After download and setup fresh installation of Flash Builder 4.6, I start to create a simple Mobile project and run it as Fast build configuration.
I got a IPA file, so I added it to iTune, plugged my iPad, and sync the app.
Surprisingly, after synchronization completed, iPad shows a pop up: 'App Name' failed to install. This also happen with iPod touch too.
I use:
- Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
- latest XCode version.
- iOS certification and provision file that can be used in prerelease version of 4.6 and 4.5.1
I have to tell you that I don't do anything special in my project, just a button, photo, and a list.
Could you help me solve this? it might be a bug or may happen to the other.

How to obtain installed license key
Hi
I am trying to find out if there is a way to find my license key for Flash Builder 4 Premium?
I've googled around and see that there are registry programs that can locate it.
But is there an official way that I can see my license key? I am unsure what key I used, and my co-worker uses a Mac with a different key. We arent sure who has used what from our key list.
My boss is asking me which key I used and I am unsure.
Is it in my Adobe account, if I log in and look through my profile?
Any ideas?

Bug in Introspection Wizard in the release? the wizard is VERY slow
hey guys... so in my application i use multiple webservices... and i usually just go to Data -> webservice, and then follow instructions from there...
in the beta i had no problems but once i downloaded the release version of flash builder 4, the wizard seems to have slowed down incrediblely... before it used to take about 10 seconds to get the webservice... but now that exact same service takes over 3 hours....
its very annoying to work with... is there any possible way i can fix this???

After overlaying adobe air sdk in flash builder 4.6 i am getting this error in my flex mobile project "Could not resolve <s:ViewNavigatorApplication> to a component implementation.". Can anyone help with Flash Builder 4.6
Hi guys, I am Tuang. I am new to Flash Builder so, I need some of you guys help.
I have trouble with my xml file list. Ho w do I make a list that don't have to scroll down to see all the list instead, make all the list visible one the page.

flash builder not functioning in eclipse
I installed Adobe Flash Builder 4 as a plugin for Eclipse for J2EE developers (galileo Eclipse Build id: 20100218-1602). The code highlighting doesn't work for mxml files, and the Outline view doesn't work for either MXML or AS files.
When I start it stand-alone, it works fine...
Can somebody help me out as to how I can get this going to work as a plugin with eclipse galileo?

How does one clean ones cache in FlashBuilder?
I am working on a project. Everthing was working fine... except I started to realise that things were doing things it is not supposed e.g. If I add a button (a simple button). During run time it does not appear. I then started deleting code to create a run time error but during run time the project works 100%. The net result is, I cannot do anything to the project because the outcome is always the same??????????
How does one clean ones cache?
Can somebody please advise me?

Licensing Flash Builder 4.7 on a restricted Government network
Hi Everyone,
One of my team members needs to use Flash Builder 4.7 on a restricted network, meaning nothing leaves the network to connect to the internet. So far it looks like he has been getting nowhere with our help desk to with Adobe support, though it could be that he just is not asking the right question. And now this task has been pushed off to me.
So, can Flash Builder 4.7 run on a restricted network with no outside communication? And if so, how? What are the right questions to ask when having our procurement folks purchase the licenses?
If anyone can give me some insight, I would really appreciate it.

Spark DataGrid scrollToIndex?
In Flex I used to use the dataGrid.scrollToIndex(XX) to scroll down to a selected row.
I can't seem to get anything to work for the Spark DataGrid in FB4.5. Searching around I tried to impliment this:
dataGrid.ensureCellIsVisible(selectedSlideIndex); dataGrid.setSelectedIndex(selectedSlideIndex); The selectedSlideIndex is set when a row is selected to store the int. I can't get the DataGrid to scroll to the index, OR select the index.. So what is the Spark DataGrid version of the MX DataGrid.scrollToIndex?

Flash Builder 4.7 SWC contents garbled, works in FlashDevelop
I have an all-defaults Action Script - Desktop (Runs in Adobe AIR) project with a single MovieClip on the stage from a SWC file created in newest Flash Pro CC. The MovieClip contains buttons, text, etc, for a menu system.
When I build and run it in my regular IDE (Flash Develop), it looks correct:
When I build and run in Flash Builder, it is a complete mess:
The problem is more than visual; DisplayObjects within GfxMainMenu have been randomly swapped with others from the same SWC. When I try to hook up my buttons, I find some of them are actually missing. The weird upside-down ghost logo MovieClip has actually replaced the orange SimpleButton. Needless to say this makes profiling difficult. I've been having this problem with Flash Builder for 3 years across many versions of FB, AIR, Windows, etc etc. Every year I try again with a new approach, hopeful that they've fixed this and I might be able to use FB's excellent profiler for this project. But the basic issue is the same: FB hates the contents of this SWC and I can't find a way to cleanse the demons from it.

Flash Builder 4.5 Debugger Problem
Hey Everyone,
I spent the better half of the last hour searching for a remedy to my situation but have not found one. I have a problem where in Flash Builder 4.5 I keep losing my debugger version of Flash Player. I download the version here http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp10 and it works again. However, seemingly random it will do it again a couple of days later. So I'm trying to figure out what is causing this or how I can fix it. It is quite annoying to go to jump into a project, debug it and then have to stop everything and download it again. Anyone know how to fix this?
I am running it on Mac OSX 10.6.7 (latest).
This is the message I receive when it breaks:
"Flash Builder cannot locate the required debugger version of Adobe Flash Player. You might need to install the debugger version of the Flash Player or reinstall Flash Builder. Do you want to try to debug with the current version?"

How to insert a "carriage return" in a text of a mail ?
Hi to all,
I'm facing a problem in an FB desktop app (WIN) which is supposed to automatically send emails.
Everything works ok except that the line feed instructions inserted in the mail text are ok if i try to visualize the text in a preview textfield in FB, but are not taken in consideration in the message displayed on the recipient screen (both with outlook and thunderbird).
I've tried various solutions such as "\n" or String.fromCharCode(13) + String.fromCharCode(10) without success.

scrolling down to a label position with linkbutton or a button event
Hy every body, I'm new in flex .
I try to creat a web site with flex 3 and i need, in one of my page to use a linbutton or a button to go down ( to Label Position) in the same page (From a titlewindow to a label in the canvas).
i think it was easy but i have spend more than 3 hours and i don't find the solution.
